11th Chennai Film Festival to Be Held In December

Singapore Airlines to Boost Bali Services from July

At present, SIA offers tickets for 21 weekly flights on the route. Additionally, the airline plans to ply its swanky B777-200 airliner on the route and will offer tickets for 323 seats its flights.

From 26 July 2013, flight SQ940 will depart Singapore at 0700 hours arriving in Denpasar (Bali) at 0935 hours. Return flight SQ949 will depart Bali at 2145 hours arriving in Singapore at 0015 hours, the next day.

The development is sure to catch the fancy of increasingly higher number of travellers who prefer full service carriers over cheap airlines to savour superb in-flight services while travelling between Singapore and Bali.

India’s Imphal Airport to Have International Standards

Air India Aims Big As its Dreamliner Expands Wings Once Again

With its Dreamliners back in skies, India’s national airline, Air India is now looking to expand its global flights operation. The airline is banking upon the Boeing 787 aircraft to increase its service of flights world over. The Indian Civil Aviation Minister even termed B787s as “game changer for Air India.”

Boeing 787 went back to the skies again last month after the aircraft were grounded for few months following reports of several battery fire incidents.

India’s state-run carrier re-launched commercial Dreamliner flights between Delhi and London on May 22 and is now planning to commence full-blown global operations and to offer tickets on flights from Delhi to Dubai, Paris and Frankfurt. The Indian operator is also connecting Delhi with Birmingham and Sydney-Melbourne from August. Additionally, tickets on flights to Rome and Milan and tickets on services to Moscow will also be offered with 787s. All these services are being planned by the Indian carrier for the near future.

Domestically, the airline has already started flights using the airliner from Delhi to Kolkata, Bangalore and Chennai, allowing passengers who book tickets on the routes to experience the charm the Dreamliner. It is also reported that there has been a huge response by the passengers and many are indeed seeking tickets for the 787 services.

Out of six 787s Air India has, two have been already modified following the battery fire incidents and others are expected to run flights pretty soon. Another eight planes will be delivered by Boeing to the Indian carrier by end of this year.

British Airways Expands Network in Thailand

Britons and travellers from other European countries will soon be able to book tickets with British Airways in case they need to travel to popular Thailand holiday destinations. BA has entered into a code-share agreement with Bangkok Airways, which allows the carrier to offer tickets on flights heading to top Thai destinations like Phuket, Koh Samui and Chiang Mai from 11 June 2013. The services will be routed via Bangkok. 

Passengers will also be able to secure tickets with the British carrier on flights from Singapore to Koh Samui. Currently, the carrier offers air tickets on daily flights to Bangkok and twice daily services to Singapore.

Moreover, the operator has decided to move its Bangkok flights from Heathrow Terminal 3 to Terminal 5 from October 2013. 

BA is hoping that with its expansion of network in Thailand, more people will be willing to book tickets on flights arriving at different Thai hotspots. The airline hopes that leisure tourists, particularly, would be encouraged to get hold of tickets. Also, the move to bring its Bangkok service to Heathrow's Terminal 5 will streamline connections between Europe and the Far East. 

Bangkok Airways shared the sentiment and hoped that the new partnership with BA will result in effective and better connectivity for passengers who are booking travel tickets on flights with British Airways to Bangkok and Singapore for their onward journey to Thailand's top destinations.

Kenya Airways to Start Direct Services to Abu Dhabi


The flag carrier of Kenya, Kenya Airways has announced a launch of direct services from Nairobi to Abu Dhabi, the capital city of UAE, offering wide connectivity and added options to flyers seeking tickets on flights operating on the route. It will offer tickets for UAE bound flights operating thrice a week from July 1, 2013.  

The new services will run on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Abu Dhabi is carrier’s second destination in UAE after Dubai, where it provides tickets for flights operating ten times a week.

The announcement comes months after the Kenyan flag carrier has signed a code share agreement with Etihad, the national airline of UAE. According to airline’s Chief Executive Officer and Group Managaing Director, the new route will provide a good link between Africa and Middle East. It will also contribute to improved connections and more choices of travel into different parts of Middle East. 

Abu Dhabi International Airport remains a significant international gateway to UAE. It is a popular cosmopolitan centre of business and a tourist destination that enjoys immense popularity among business and leisure travellers who seek air travel tickets. Jetstar to Boost Bangkok-Singapore Services from July
